Sheffield United have signed Chelsea reserve team midfielder Daniel Philliskirk on a four-week loan deal.
The 19-year-old, who can also play as a striker, spent a month on loan with League Two club Oxford United at the beginning of the season.
Philliskirk, a former England Under-17 international, has featured three times for the Blues' second-string side this term.
He will be assessed by coach Mark Smithduring his stay at Bramall Lane and will work with the rest of the Blades' development squad Not sure what this is all about, at age 20 he should be thought of as a first teamer but i don`t read that into the above. Maybe he has summat, it`s to be hoped he`s not the gangly thin streak of piss his Dad were (winner at leeds excluded). Hopefully he will provide competition for places and some proper logical quality signings are due any day. That`s if Micky Adams can cross the moat, scale the drawbridge & fight off the bodyguards protecting Ebeneezer McCabe `s wallet.

I can't figure this, since when did loans get used for the development squad?
