It's been well documented that SUFC are attempting to cut costs by reducing the wage bill etc. I was thinking, if the wage bill is being cut and the club's expenditure decreases, will the fans see any reductions in the cost of say, a season ticket or match day tickets. For example, as the club saves money, it obviously needs less money and so, will the first priority be to pass any savings onto the fans?

First rule of capitalists - cut your own costs, maximize your income. Could you really see the fat cats cutting costs to the paying spectators? Nice thought SOC, but not much hope of fruition! BLADENZ

I run my own business and so, am well aware of cutting costs and increasing profits. However, I'm sure that our customers would get edgy/complain if we started to hike up our prices and the quality of the product was below par. Watching the Blades doesn't feel like good value for money at the moment and I think more has to be done on ticket pricing/special offers to get people coming back. I doubt it'd work at Bramall Lane right now as the issues with supporters not going is far more complex than just cost. I know quits a few people that just can't afford and or simply, don't want to go to watch us playing so badly. I've only stopped going to the Lane once on principle and went back with my tail between my legs to see us win promotion under Warnock. I'd not get drawn into any silly arguments online like that again and I'd go now whatever the situation or manager we have in charge.

Surely the revolutionary idea is to make footballers wages linked to speccies income through the turnstiles. Not even the pigs could go bust using that formula. Or did I mess something?

Good for you, SOC. That is the spirit of the real supporter and one we tried to have when we lived in England. You support the team no matter what! Through thick and thin (or as they say in married circles, for better or for worse.) I wonder if match-goers might get some relief if they complained to the Office of Fair Trading, that the product doesn't meet the specification? I'm sure Fred will have a view on this! Bladenz

There`s been nowt fair havin` to put up with the likes of nosworthy, stewart, blackwell, taylor monty, bunn, beattie(C) etc. etc. A prison sentence sharing a cell with a mass murdering crochet freak would be considerably more fun.
I never thought the days of pedro verde, duggie brown & derek richardson would be repeated during my lifetime.... then along came Billy mcEwen & if that wasn`t enough, blackwell turned us into dogshit north end.
fair trading, fair bloody shite more like.
