Fair result, despite Huddersfield having better possession, they rarely did anything with it, whereas we created the Fleck post hit, good thump outside box from Berge, The scramble and good shot from McBurnie and a frantic block from Berge`s close ranger. All very nearly a goal... add Sharpy`s smack just wide of the top right angle and another Fleck shank and they are all chances Huudersfield never got near to creating.
Ok they had the ball in the net once, the bloke Ward interfered with Wes and was offside, was he fouled first? not really, him and George tussled, George let go and Ward crumpled to the ground...
i wonder if the second foul of the day set something in the referee`s mind. Billy commits the foul, , it`s soft and he only just touched the bloke, however the fouled player reacted as if Billy had chainsawed his knees off before pouring hot lava down his cakehole. Very theatrical, he had the foul, no need for that shite.
So when we get a theatrical Ward and 2 other ballerina dives in the area, the ref wisely took the wise option and gave us the benefit, He was right too.
Poor MGW looked like he`d got his evening cocoa slippers on, couldn`t stay upright. he`ll be right next game, he probably needed that performance to get himeslf back to normal. Berge did ok, but looked much better when pushed forward a bit more. McBurnie unlucky at times, soft at others but certainly tried. George has always been a tackler who plays on the edge, mostly succesfully, did ok today, but a crapper ref may have been troublesome. The rest did ok in patches.
I thought `udders the crappiest team we`ve played this season when we played them at home, they somehow jammed a win thanks to our plethora of missed chances and us switching off in the last minute. Today they were much much better but still overdid things and never really troubled Wes at all.
a reasonable point but nice to know we aren`t conceding too many chances and still creating good`uns even when we aren`t at our best.
