Good evening all,
The Inter Blades recorded a good victory over their South Yorkshire rivals this morning in Barnsley. The game was initially in doubt, as the Groundsman at the scheduled venue didn't turn up and was uncontactable, but well done to the Barnsley lads for quickly organising another venue and both teams moved across to the alternative.
The game was played in a good manner despite this always being a hotly contested South Yorkshire Derby match, so well done to both teams. I'm not sure of the order of the goals (as I wasn't there myself unfortunately), but I'm told we had a fantastic 20 minute spell in the second half where we played possibly our best football for quite a while, resulting in us taking a 4-1 lead into the final stages of the match. At this point some of the lads took their foot off the pedal and Barnsley took advantage pulling two goals back from corners in the last couple of minutes, however we held on for a decent victory and a league double over the Tykes.
