Are We Good Enough to Stay Up

A very simple post, are we good enough to avoid relegation and what would that mean to us as a club.

I'm really worried about our chances and if we do stay up, Adams will deserve tremendous credit for dragging us out of the mire. I personally don't find the recent signings too promising, but let's hope they gel quickly and start to pick up results fast. I hope Doyle adds some steel to the midfield and some leadership. I sincerely hope we don't go down, because whilst it won't be a disaster, it will take a 4-5 thousand off the gates and we'll be rebuilding from a worse position than we're in now.

I can't see anything changing whilst McCabe is holding all the aces and I don't think the full and detailed remit for Trevor Birch was to find investment. I think he has been brought in to run the club as if in administration and to balance the books. I think the plan that he'd come it to find investment was a ruse and his real aim was to trim the fat and make the club self funding.

I honest can't see any investor wanting to come in and take over the club as it stands. The playing side alone needs £10-£15million points investing to make us realistic play-off/promotion contenders.

Whilst I have seen us go through much worse than we are at the moment, I don't think I've felt as helpless as a supporter and as uncertain about our future. I'm hoping things work out for the better, but we seem to be lurching from one crisis to another with no real idea of where it will end or begin to improve.

I fully understand the sentiments of your post, but I think what MA has done here (whilst having little or no resources) is assemble a squad with the sole ambition of not getting relegated.

It would have been nice to see some 'named' player(s) adding to our ranks, but the truth of the matter is we are in the relegation spot (goal difference aside) and what is needed is a bit of strength in the side and players that will give 100% on the pitch. In an ideal world I am sure that MA would have off-loaded the deadwood and brought in 6-7 new faces, but sadly we don't have that type of resources anymore.

And let's be honest who would take the crap that we have anyway?

I think we are just good enough to stay up, there`s, luckily, piles of other muck around us, that hopefully will sink into the mire before us.

On a positive note we are creating more chances now under Micky than under the negative boring non tactical tripe of blackwell & speed. But surely it can`t be just luck we aren`t taking those chances?, bars hit & good saves apart we should be getting at least 1 or 2 in the back of the net.

Shame, as expected the ref got all starry eyed at reffing sven`s side, no penalties for us, lots of poor decisions against us. just like at their place when they were saved by the penalty that never was. Should`ve had 6 points against his lot instead of the 1 we`ve got, how much better off we`d be if there were justice in football.

Having said all that, middle still needs improving & so does cresswell heading ability, but head transplants are costly, as would a new brain & feet for monty & a safe pair of hands for simmo.
