Anyone else going to get into the tournament??. A quick diversion form the plight of The Blades, made more interesting now that Jags is very much looking like earning his rightful place in the side. Shame our Kyle got nobbled in his last spurs game, it`d be nice to see both Jags & Walker helping us to victory!! (G cahill too... though he`s just been wiped out by a sneaky push by a belgium ponce into the goalie)
Of course the cheap option, Hodgson will try for attritional wins, make his side hard to beat but likely to have no second plan if we go behind. Can`t understand the picking of the liverpool flops, i mean henderson, kelly, bloody downing, even the gippo up front... what have they done to earn a cap, apart from looking shite in a shite team??.
Not sure what Adam Johnson has done wrong to have downing picked in front of him.
But i`m a patriotic old duffer & i`ll be supporting the lads against johnny foreigner.
Come on you three Lions!!

1-1 with pierre frog. satisfactory result. though just that niggle that with a little more adventure we could have sneaked a win.
The Hodgson way of being hard to beat stifled us too much, when Nasri had his free shot, we had 5 white shirts deep in our own area marking no one but just stood there making up a barrier of come & get me....
yes, well that`s ok, but not that bloody deep thanks.
We have turned into fulham. Lets hope we show some adventure in our next outing.
Milner looks slow & missed a sitter, Lescott is still a poor mans Jags at defending despite his goal & the ref, as is usual with England & Sheffield United, missed (or ignored) half a dozen fouls on our lads & refused to book any monsieur for fear of upsetting FIFA.

Well i take it back , a Hodgson team did come back from being behind. & Woys plan B was Theo Walcott. Surely this lad should be part of plan A, Milner is a good professional hard worker , but has no pace to get round his man.
Hodgson has been inflicted with a touch of the blackwells, when picking a midfielder, pick a player who is a better defender over one who is a better attacker.
Lescott showed he is a gash defender v. the swedes & Jags should`ve been there.
We`ll probably bugger it up v. ukraine tomorrow.

Satisfactory win over Ukraine, wish we`d not defend so deep still but that seems to be the Hodgson way.
Blimey that Lescott can`t pass to save his life, caught out a few times too, that heading the valve so much that has destroyed his forehead has impeded his thought processes me thinks. He can do no wrong with the media tho`, he`s a right darling with them. Milner is a waste but the rest did ok. Gerrard outstanding.
As for the ball going over the line... it were nowt as obvious as Lampards that were 60 yard over or Deano`s v. palace in 1991 which had settled in the back off the net for half hour before being ticked off as not going over..... the main thing n the Ukraine goal was that the bloke was offside from the initial ball anyway, as was the bloke who missed a header from 4 yard. If Blokhins lad flagged the line properly there`d have been no problem. Anyway bugger `em, we won, Ukraine lost, fly home to er, well, Ukraine, ok take a bus, but sod off, you`re out!!.
We do pretty well to win any international match when you think about it, today the Ukrainans got a 'hungarian' referee, while we always get a 'foreigner' doing the reffing... and we all know foreigners don`t like us. :-)

It's not exciting stuff but sort of effective so far. I keep thinking better teams might stuff us but it wasn't a doddle of a group so who knows.

I can just imagine the problems of having to find directions to Dnepropetrovsk... it takes 10 minutes to get past the pronunciation of the first 3 letters. Rooms complete with en suite, coffee pot & KGB listening devices. deck the walls out with Red & white stripes & the Blades emblem & we`ll think about it. .......................... I see the ukrainian manager is still moaning about the goal that never was, moaning about Carroll using his elbows, moaning about Terry kicking from behind. The man is a complete prick (has he connections to S6??). The goal was offside you dumb bollock, Your lad tymoshuck should`ve been sent off for rugby tackling one of our lads after already been booked, your prat Shevchenko should`ve been off for an awful possible leg breaking challenge of Young, high & no way he was going for the ball. Stop being a mardy t**t, go holidaying in siberia or swimming in some jolly ukranian seaside oil.... you`ve not else to do matey ( )

Udders v. Blades all over again, Udders, sorry italy showing the more attacking options but being woefully short of breaking us down. Lots of feeble shots & nowt but a sliced ankled shot onto a post to show for `em. On to penalties & every Blade knew how it finishes Il uddersfieldo miss an early one, this is it we are thru`, but it`s just a tease, Ashley X 2 misses & it`s Signore diving gits thru to the semis just a few points... Best chance of the match, Johnson toe poke from 5 yard, just keep it down son, that`s a geriatric ponce in goal, nowt to be frightened of. Since when has trying to pull the shirt off Terry`s back & falling down in the attempt meant a free kick to italy & not a penalty to England? ... yelling as if you`ve been sliced in two wi` bread knife seems to be an excusable reason for a free kick for FIFA. Hodgson`s tactics (& the use of Milner) restricted what could`ve been a decent England team. I felt sorry for the forwards, how many times was the ball given to Rooney or Welbeck & they were surrounded by 3 to 5 uddersfield players.... only for the support never to arrive, Hodgson rarely allowed players to commit to attack for fear of upsetting the defensive structure. I hope this is a one off, if we`ve years of these tactics under Woy, then it`s going to be all kevin Blackwell (a bloody hard watch) Ah well saves watching any more of the tournament
