Never won at the Lane scoring 6 goals in over a hundred years! Adittedley we didnt play them until the 80's....
Ive seen this mob take a 2 goal lead in the 85th minute and still not win. They are one of those teams we always seem to do well against at the Lane.
3 points Saturday, we will only need another 3 wins from the 7 remaining to be in the top 6 thought I think 70 points will be enough.

Didn`t we thrash `em in our first ever season?, i saw it in a past life, i were called Fred then an` all. Good name Fred for a footballer, ask Tunstall our cup winner of `25, er i digress... yes we should thrash crewe, that is if it`s the Clough of Scunny home and not the attritional boring get Clough of most of the league season!!.
Onward and uppards, if we lose this there is summat wrong. UTB!!

United absolutely dire. Turned out first half like a pre season friendly. Slow lack of movement lack of desire. Deserved to be one down. 2nd half slightly better but never really looked like scoring until holt conjured a finish from nothing. Did we pick the pace up no and deserved the sucker punch.

Bloody awful
I could understand there being little change to the scunny team, only Howard in for turner but was disappointed we didn`t start with 2 strikers up front, Done with Davies would`ve been handy.
Steve Davies is alas just a slightly stronger version of porter with the same usual goal input for us; next to nowt and nowt to come. But Davies could be handy with a scorer alongside him.
This was crewe who have been leaking goals and defeats for fun, we were pedestrian and as scary as blancmange in the final third. Fed up of this, let`s take scunny, southampton, parts of colchester and second half v, spurs for home games and v. bristol city away... well apart from that little lot we have been pedestrian and scary as blancmange in the final third for the entire bleeding season.
Piss off Clough if you are going to serve up this shite with your ex derby hand me downs and a few scots fill ins. The bench looked quite handy with Done, McNulty and Adams on it but who was the first change when we needed goals... Doyle on for Baxter (gosh that worked) and one striker replaced by another so still only 1 proper striker on the field.
I`m lead to believe Done may be carrying a niggle but Clough`s treatment of the bloke is bizarre, scores a few goals so Clough puts him out the wing and then drops him for not scoring. McNulty scores a few, gets dropped for doing so `cos he runs some wrong lines?, Adams shows promise and gets dropped for doing so... and as for Butler, Collins, JCR etc, etc,.. it all goes to show that even with a decent squad at his disposal Clough just isn`t good enough to get the best out of it, he has favourites and seems to get pissed off with form players because they sneeze without putting their hands to their gobs.
crewe, fleetwood, Peterborough and the rest of human footballing sputum, all too good for us, and all because we were soft as a holed sock.
Pace and an attacking mindset would be a good idea, do you think someone should tell Clough it`s allowed?

I didnt go yesterday, im not going to lie. I have had it to the back teeth with what is being turned out, if they arent going to change negative Nigrel, only thing dafter is me keep paying to watch it then complaining abart it. One thing I have picked up from speaking to around 12 Blades that did go, is the consensus of opinion lays once again with Mr Negativity.
Now lets put this in perspective, Crewe have conceded 4 at Preston, 5 at Bristol, sit in and around the bottom 4 - which they have all season. They are a club that fear coming to the Lane - as discussed with there derisory record in the opening post. Now how on earth can this one man get so much DRAMATICALLY wrong?? There was an ice berg on Tuesday night in the first 20 minutes with Scunny going close. I only went to that due to a freebie, and lift to and from. I could see that we wernt shaped up to create upteen chances. In a game that finished 4 -0 it is suprising that there keeper didnt have a save to make?
Now yesterday, and these are only my assumptions, how can you, at 1-1 not bring on as much firepower as possible to win the game?? And bloke, Warnock, Wilson, Bassett would have put McNulty and Done on - they have 30 goals nearly between them?? Why would you take off your number 10 (Baxter) and stick a defensive midfielder on?? Please anyone give me an answer cos im all ears!
He seems devoid of tactics once we go a goal down. We set up for a 0-0 and take what we can after that. We dont have the players to play for a 0-0 as we are always at a disadvantage height wise, especially in theis league.
I dont know what more the board need to see to get rid of this man I really dont? The play offs are 3 matches. We havent won 3 matches back to back all season so why are they thinking "It will be rate" its astounding we are taking this sort of chance when more talented managers are sat on there backsides!

You are right the scunny game, though decent, didn't exactly show that we`d turned into a sparkling attacking force, a jammy Jason Holt shot, 2 pens and a bit of brilliance from Murphy (our seasons saviour) and that was about it really, not exactly stats to send shivers down the genitalia of the opposition.
Yesterday back to the usual Cloughw**k , very little pace, no scoring threat and only Murphy to occasionally light up the game, that`s been the story of the season. Steve Davies can`t score and isn`t a threat, Done is tucked away on the bench to fester and wonder why he has been turned into a supporting wide man.
And Clough turned out his usual excuse, " we were tired" bloody hell would they rather do 500 shuttles and 400 laps of the pitch or play a game of football on a tuesday night?, these are full time professional sportsmen playing against sportsmen withesimilar workloads, how is it an excuse? We spend half the first part of the season saying that we score late goals because we are so bloody superior fitness wise to every other side, now we are a bunch of windy asthmatic fat stan Ogdens. can`t have it both ways Clough you prune.
