rumour goin round that we've paid off his contract
cant see it being true as he'l be on a decent wedge and will have at least another year left on his contract. and surely he'd command a fee in the summer

Alongside Andy Reid, Yeates looked a class act, alongside doyle, monty, ertl etc. he looks as limp as a dali clock & as interested as a dead whippet.
Alongside every other player this season we`ve only seen his good footballing side on a few occasions. i`d hate to pick a player of the year award... Andy Reid probably, followed by Harry Maguire.

A few flashes but overall a poor player who lacks pace and can't beat a player. Get rid this summer. Hopefully we'll get a silly offer.

He has gone. He will be another trivia question on a few years time like 'Whatever happened to Mark Yeates/ Bruno Ribeiro?' I would have liked to start getting a bit of money back though eh? Like we just gave Swansea Leon Britton back?? We are a soft touch

Welcome, Goldenslew - ain't that the truth, though, that we are a soft touch? From when I started going to the Lane in the days of Badger, Woodward, Colquhoun and co., we have always been a "selling" and "giving away" club. I remember when Mick Jones was first going to Leeds, the crowd on the Kop chanting "Send Dick Wragg to Vietnam"! Long before the time of most of you I guess, but sung with feeling nevertheless! (Dick Wragg was our Chairman in those far off days!)

Hi Badenz.
Bit before my time im afraid. I used to be one of Kevin McCabes biggest fans but nowadays, he is ready to sell the crown jewells to anyone that meets his valuation. I wonder who the next one is out of the door? Slew? Lowton? Maguire?
We have a prime opportunity to let this golden era from the academy strut there stuff. Why do I get a feeling McCabe was on the phone to agents as soon as the ball hit the Preston net yesterday???

Expect large attendances at the youth cup final matches as Uncle Kev sends out invites to agents/scouts/managers in a bid to flog off the life support.

With the offer of driving them up there himself? I see Naughton and Kenny are in the team of the year for the championship. Two more that he, sorry 'we' couldnt refuse the money for! I wonder how many people will be in for Johnny Ertl, Steve Simonsen, Neil Collins in the summer? We would be better off picking blokes out of the crowd than these3!

Good idea, Goldenslew! Let's try for the fan who catches Monty's misplaced passes. I think he is in Row Z of the stand. I love your description on another thread about the player who has the personality of a dead fox. My own favourite saying is the he has the "same IQ as a glass of water!"
