Just not good enough though is it Fred? Then you watch Jamie Ward spank them in for Derby and wonder if it is the same player!
This season has been a disaster from top to bottom! Makes me wonder what the guidelines will be for 'player of the season?' Perhaps the one that parks there car best or who has the best suit because it certainly wont be based on that football pitch!

Aye , that`s true GS, it`s been a bloody awful season, with nowt to shout about apart from a Spark from Andy Reid & a win over the scum from leeds.
Last season was a warning as we drifted in & around mediocre, pre season was an even BIGGER jolt, as we failed to score against the flotsam & piss of non league & worse. 2 shots in 3 games under blackwell & a relegation battle was looking more likely than the play offs. Amazingly the season just never got going, a poor squad lacking quality, cheap managers, cheap loans & collins.
Riise has been a minor bright spot so i`ll forgive him his dropped bollock, Quinny has done well over last 2 months, but other than the cameo`s of Maguire & Slew , the promise of Lowton & the odd goal from Evans... the rest are have been pure shite.
I see the list of player of the year options doesn`t include anyone on loan (that`s Reid out), so that narrows it down to a least crappest player of the season award. Evans?

I cant believe that t**t to carry on from last season for 3 matches! I still have a niggling feeling that we wouldnt have gone down if he was still there, but I know it would have been horendous all the way through.
Where do you stand with Micky Adams? He has to be stood up and counted. His record reads as depressing as my phone bill!

Adams inherited a big bag of Blackwell's bum squirts but he has bitterly disappointed me. All his signings including loans have smacked of desperation because nobody else wanted to come to us but there has to have been better out there than Bent, Collins, Doyle etc. His judgement seems to have been severely lacking so I hope he can get his act together quickly or leave.
I really thought he was better than what he has shown but I would like to give him a bit more time.....but not too much. We won't want him hanging around our necks like a dead Cresswell.

I agree totally Red. McScab'e will probably give him the pre season, and a handful of games, and the wave a big cheerio, once again, leaving us in the quick shite.

I really hoped that Adams would bring his wealth of knowledge from the third tier. We all knew we were in the brown stuff, but we have been in these situations before. I expected I dont know, Port Vales full back, Macclesfield's centre halve that kind of thing and we would sit back and think we have uncovered some gems here! Like Bassett did with Deano, Agana. Not that kind of ilk, but people who would do a job for us and see us mid-table ish...you know what I mean? All of a sudden im seeing Collins - who was garbage the first time...Doyle who Coventry fans were laughing at us and then Marcus Bent who hasnt scored since Audrey Roberts last shagged Alf!  Its been absolutely pathetic. From ex-England internationals (Lee Hendrie) to basement buys (Doyle) we have moved from one bag of crap to another! WTF are the scouts doing?? Its not that D'jaffo and Gus Uhlenbeek doing it is it?? I shudder to think what garbage we will end up with in the summer! |

Well, Goldenslew, if D'jaffo and Uhlenbeek are scouting for us we know that the players they recommend with be good with their fists, but not their feet.

I have to admit that when it seemed it was between Donny`s SOD & Micky to save us from relegation , i thought Micky was the better bet of the two in a scrap. Actually he probably is the way donny are free-falling but Micky has been a huge disappointment.
He certainly inherited a house that was full of empty MacDonalds wrappers, fag ends, dirty washing & dogshit. The evil houseowner says go out & get something to tidy the place up back in january, but gave poor Micky nowt to spend. Micky tries in vain to bring in a bit of class, a rubbish bag & a can of pledge but the prices are too high & no one wants to help tidy his shitheap. So Micky thinks, well, perhaps the dogshit won`t look so bad & noticeable alongside more dogshit, so off he pops to leeds, coventry & where ever that w**k Bent came from & brings in more dogshit.
Yes we needed competition for centre back & centre mid but bringing in more of the same just got us... well, more of the same. McCabe certainly restricted poor Micky in his selection But Micky`s eventual selection was very questionable. Then again he was desperate. Hard to judge him properly as he did inherit blackie`s spawn but he hasn`t improved it one bit apart from Riise & Maguire.
We have created more chances than Blackie/Speed ever did but stuck with hendo, boggy cresswell, the answer to putting away those chances was never going to be marcus sodding bent. Bad bad signing that`un. The player Micky remembered working with in years past had disintegrated into a vast chasm of shite.

I agree with everything you say there Fred. I thought Adams was the right choice given the limited options we had, I have been disappointed with his signings but I'm sure he was struggling to get anyone in at all. He has a decent record in the lower leagues which is where we will be next season so lets see if he can blend some of the youth team in with a few new signings and see what happens.....
