McCabe on RS Tonight

When you consider the torrid time we've had both on and off the field since relegation from the top flight, McCabe got off very lightly on the phone in tonight. I thought McCabe would get a proper roasting for the rash managerial appointments, the financial mis-management and the stripping of the assets, but nobody really gave him a hard time at all.

I fully appreciate what Kevin McCabe has done for the club and where we were when he came into to rescue the club. However, we are now back where we were over 20 years ago and in my view, the club has made retrograde and counter productive poor decisions since relegation from the Premiership. McCabe has made a succession of poor managerial appointments e.g. Robson, Blackwell, Speed and to some extent Adams. McCabe has also appointed a CEO that has financially ruined the club by selling off anything of value and we've lurched from one loan/transfer window to the next in order to patch up a threadbare squad. We are a pale shadow of the side that was relegated from the Premiership and in my view, getting things right will take time.

McCabe has to allow any new manager the time that he allowed Colin to rebuild and reshape the side. There can be no quick fixes, we are in a mess and we need a long term/medium term plan to try and work out a strategy to get the club we all know and love, back on it's feet again.

I only hope that McCabe gets the next appointment right and that the club makes progress up the league. If he gets this one wrong, he could find himself at the mercy of the SUFC supporters and that could turn very ugly.

I don't know how everyone else feels about McCabe, but at the moment, he is not Mr. Popular amongst the people I attend games with and I've not met many Blades recently that have a good word to say about him.

He talks well doesnt he? He always has done. You switch the radio on wanting him to get grilled into submission, Seth cutting off callers left right and centre....but then you see his point of view

There were far simpler decisions that could have happened. The permenant signing of Andy Reid...the sacking of Blackhead this time last year. He appears to be though what I expected. A very calm man that cuts straight to the point. He didnt get to making 1 billion pounds from tip toe-ing around people after all.

I think he knows, and feels that decisions have been made by people he has put faith into. Bryan Robsons appointment by Turry Robinson. The loan signings being ok'd by Birch - both of whom he has dismissed off the pay roll. I feel alot safer in the knowledge that he is there or there abouts the club than being away in Brussels. Thats his problem - he is trying to run it on a part time basis which you just cant do in football. You have to be hands on all the time, otherwise people are good at spending money on sh1te! He is right, the loan players that have cost 6 million was it? Even he cant remember some of there names and I thought we were a bit too hasty getting rid of Forte and Hurst. Especially when you see Yates dragging his sack across the pitch or Cresswell bent double on the half way line every 2 minutes!

There has never been a demonstration against McCabe. Ive seen them against Woolhouse and Brearley, Mike McDonald.

Its tonight when he says we have one of the best academies in the country - you cant argue with that. He says we have one of the best stadiums outside the premiership, again you cant call him a liar. The only problem is the first team where dreadful mistakes have been made. I mean come one, even in League 1, would you swap the players for those of Crystal Palace? Coventry City? Watford?? I know I wouldnt.

He is just so dam frustrating that he can wield the axe and say 'that was bollox' to managers kicking them out of the door, chief execs heads have rolled.....do it yourself Kev FFS! Pay some tax in the UK and sort it out - your in it to your back whatsits and your not getting any younger!!!!
