Well that`ll learn `em...
Turning up with their cheap cardboard ugly Tevez masks, thinking it would upset the locals, when in fact the only response was "time tha grew up tha chidlish little sods"
A nice hefty win would`ve been a nice response too and yet , wouldn`t it be nice if they left Sheffield defeated but with a sense of injustice?... that`d be rather a jolly little caper... and so it was thanks to VAR :-)
Anyway, first half 0-0 and deservedly so, we weren`t great, they were marginally worse, 2 chances for us (Egan over bar , Lundstram shot on target but blocked, Anderson scuffed one well wide for the capital`s cave dwellers)
Second half we upped the pace, Fleck unlucky not to score twice, McBurnie does score, Lundstram pass just a little too slow for Baldock to score, Mousset should score, all without a titter from west brooking. 2 or 3 up would`ve been just and yet, we get a scare from a free kick and then decide to play for time instead of getting that vital second... Hmmm, snotgrass slices one in with his gammy foot and it`s all square with a minute to go .....But...
And it`s a bit BUT , a big BUT with extra spice and a juicy serving of "stick that up your cockney ares`oles" Because the mardy cry baby Rice, who for 92 minutes had been pretty much invisible, had handballed in the build up. VAR picked it up and that was that. Rice reckons Egan headed it onto his hand, but his hand was up highish and it gained him a huge advantage, the correct decision, not only that but that was a pretty hefty illegal barge/elbow from rice on Egan, surely a foul anyway?
But anyway, who cares, the tevez masks are thrown to the ground in frustration by west hams finest, snotgrass gets a rather quaint send off, the locals ask the west ham fans to put the tevez masks back on, their true looks are frightening the children.
Despite what the incredible melting man Moyes says, west ham deserved nothing from the game, and that`s what they got. we weren`t at our best first half but overall merited the 3 points. ..... and jolly bloody good it was to receive them too.
