While we muck about doing nowt, Slew thinks about going, have signed no one & no one wants our lead footed donkeys , here`s a nice little view from our Frank about things.... just a mention of Sammy sent me reminiscing.
Frank Barlow returning to Bramall Lane on Tuesday brought back some fond memories for the childhood Blade, but says his main focus now is assisting Danny Wilson ahead of the new season.
The recently-appointed Blades boss has moved swiftly to secure the coveted services of Barlow as his number two, with the pair having a professional and personal relationship which arguably makes them the perfect combination.
With that in mind, Barlow reveals his delight at returning to the club he served as a player and he is confident, despite the initial unrest at Wilson's appointment, that Blades fans will back the new manager when they see his work come to fruition on the pitch:

"I started here so when you look back I have come full circle. I was influenced coming here as a schoolboy and I used to travel to night training with Geoff Salmons. In fact we had to get change buses twice if I remember rightly.
"From being 15 to about 27 my life revolved around Sheffield United. To comeback in this capacity is something I didn't think would happen. Opportunities to coach are few and far between and you have to go where you are asked.
"When Danny phoned me this time I was surprised. I would be telling lies if I didn't say I was slightly surprised Danny got the job, although he is an excellent choice who will make a super job of it."
He adds: "Ultimately we are going to be judged by results but if we make a positive start then any negative feelings toward Danny should pale into insignificance.
"You would have been surprised if the appointment of Danny hadn't provoked some reaction but at the same time it is disappointing too. Danny can deal with that, though, and plenty more, he is mentally strong and ready for the challenge.
"I have known him since he was 19, worked with him as a player and as a manager and I have no doubts about him, Danny is rock solid in that regard."
Reminiscing on the familiar surroundings that Barlow is reunited with, the Blades assistant boss added: "It feels good to be back because it is a long time since I was here as a player, in fact it is close to 40 years.
"It has changed a lot since my day; there is a stand there instead of the cricket pavilion now. The club has developed and the game has changed but it is still the same red and white stripes!"
