It will effect us, whatever happens, we go down, we stay up , we lose money, we don`t... what strange times but somehow inevitable
Inevitable ever since rich foreigners bought big clubs. They don`t care about the fans, don`t care about tradition and the history of a club, don`t care about the city/town either, all they care about is their bank balance and the prestige of running a well known club.
Some super league it`s going to be, with no relegation there`ll come a time in the season the top is decided, then the also rans play out exhibition games for the rest of the season, ho bloody hum.
Seems the American owners in particular have wanted this, turning the superbly brilliant and best game in the world into a f**king USA macdonalds version. Expect huge fees to watch, fast food on sale that would give give everyone a cholesterol breakdown by half time and a full scale heart condition by full time, the game sponsor being the amubulance service and alka seltzer. They`ll want lots of TV money and more sponsors money, cue superbowl ads and four 20 minute quarters to shove in time for more and a cheer leading player of the day.
Yes the teams involved should be relegated from the premier, yes their players should be banned from internationals, this is a bigger farce than the old banned cricket 'test' teams in apartheid South africa or the joke Kerry Packer monstrosity that ruined cricket in the late 70s. Sure that eventually led to better pay for cricketers but this football circus will benefit the owners of each European club and little else.
I expect EUFA to try and solve all problems with a rebooted Champions league and the English clubs will be excused the league cup all together. i don`t like that but the cup was soiled ever since the second rate cup was won in 1991 by the second rate S6 massive adding the rumblelows to their collection of rust and urine and deceit over at H*********** . But even that cup is a godsend to small clubs ( very like wed*****) and they need the big clubs.
I feel so happy i support a working mens/womens club, a club for the supporters, a club that breeds passion for it`s support through thick and thin. A club very much a Sheffield club and proud of the City`s culture and working traditions, solid steel throughout , a club proud of it`s history despite the lack of major trophies for nearly a hundred years. it`s not about cups and money and being a giant in Europe, it`s about passion and a love for a club whether it`s Hatton and Edwards at Darlington in the 4th tier or Bryan and Burke in his granny slippers at Old Trafford.... it`s The Blades and they count first and always foremost in the football world.
