Hmmm, ever since i saw the list of how many United players were going on international duty i had a horrible feeling the Brum and QPR games would be stodgy boring lacklustre games and we`d be lucky to get a win, Sadly this is what happened, the stoke game is coming too quick too.
International caps are great for our players, not great for us, a side already with 12000 injured players (mildly exaggerated).... Add the internationals with lots of jetting about , as well as messing with new tactics and meaningless minutes on a foreign soil which is forever not Sheffield. It`s a problem.
First half was ok v. QPR . We should`ve taken a couple of chances among the drama of every QPR player falling to the ground at the mere sound of a United boot tread on the lush turf, and taking every chance to waste time. Second half i`ve never seen so many wrong options taken by us... i`d shout shoot and we did not, i`d shout pass and we shot, tired thinking as well as tired limbs i`d say.
QPR and Brum are ok handy sides but nowt special, take away the international bollock fest and we beat both sides and stand well clear at the top of the table. We`re still top but it`s all a bit of a jam now. Not expecting much at Stoke either.
We really need Anel back and a left footed lad in front of RND, when we have that we`ll be ok. A few more of the injured would be nice too.
And John Egan, what is it when he heads a ball in the opposition box toward goal? are club goal posts shorter than at international level ! ... ne`er mind, let`s hope we have a team with energy at stoke.
Oh and that was a pen on Berge, but i rarely expect us to get one... Sander is never theatrical and refs fall for the theatrical. I admire Sander for that, shame it has cost us a few pens but morally our players are sound lads. Could i watch a team of Brum and QPR players spending half the match fondling the turf.... it`d drain the life out me old bones.
